SAMPLE POST
Cyzarine smiled absently to herself as she climbed the last few steps of the Astronomy Tower. She had long-since been allowed to come back to the astronomy area – to view the stars more out of interest than extra-credit – and the divination room – to nurture, and later exercise, her natural gift – and so she made no hesitation before bounding up the steps a little faster. As always, she was just as eager to return as she had been after leaving each room on her first day. The Atronomy Tower was like her home, second only to Ravenclaw Tower and her father’s mansion in Russia.
“Professor?” she called, glancing round cautiously as she entered the divination room. However, she knew perfectly well that no one would be there – the feast was currently in session, after all. Once again, the Ravenclaw-loner was spending her free time alone in the Astronomy Tower. Nobody would be surprised, not that they really noticed her.
Speaking of surprises, she should get back to visit Hagrid again soon. She dropped in every other month, to check up on both the Games Keeper and his ‘pets’. His latest companion was a hippogriff named Glintwing. Despite Hagrid’s current lack of knowledge on the creature, Cyzarine was able to communicate with Glintwing, and had enjoyed many a conversation on ferets and what Glintwing liked eating. Glintwing had been calling for help for a few days now, and so Cyzarine promptly assumed another visit was in order.
She barely glanced round as the sound of footsteps reached her ears, yet turned as the person entered the room. She smiled slightly, trying to look welcoming. Turning to glance back down at the grounds once more, her eyes locked on Hagrid’s cabin for a split second before she had turned away again and started back towards the door, nodding her head to the bemused divination professor.
“Good day, professor.” She called softly, pausing at the top of the stairs. “I hope the crystal ball doesn’t cause too much disruption.”
Leaving the slightly-surprised teacher to her thoughts on this foreseen matter, she started down the stairs again, her head already a whirl on the things she saw.
A fourth year Hufflepuff girl flashed a smile at her as she passed – Cyzarine smiled back faintly as she spotted the angels flickering under the girls’ earlobes as she smiled. Sirius Black was laughing at a joke or something, not noticing her as she slinked past him, her brow creasing in bemused confusion as she spotted the stars by his left temple as he did so. Lucius Malfoy was laughing at something as well – Cyzarine hardly spared a glance for the red lightening bolts of cruel-amusement beneath his earlobes.
But, as always, she remained silent in her observations, saving them to record in her dream diary later. Perhaps she would run into Firrenze (the centaur) along the way – she could warn him of the tree about to fall around three a.m tomorrow.
A true smile coming to her face at last, she took a moment to compose herself before knocking on Hagrid’s door. “Hagrid? I’ve come to tell Glintwing to be quiet, if you don’t mind!” she joked.
